Issa is a beautiful Pyr mix pup, about 7 months old, and will most likely be on the smaller side for a Great Pyrenees. She is a sweet girl who loves playing with other dogs big and small, and gets along great with cats. She was shy at first with my 4 year old goddaughter, but she is learning that kids are fun; even though they shriek and run around, they are fun to play with! Initially timid with strangers, Issa now joyfully greets visitors and will follow you around. She will happily give kisses, and is thrilled to see you when you arrive home. She is attentive, walks well on a leash and comes to you as soon as she is called. Issa has really taken to indoor living, and is well behaved in the house when left alone. She’s a very smart girl and was housebroken in record time She is a very gentle girl who is interested in everything going on around her. I have taken her to work with me and she did great. She has a big walk daily with the other fosters, and then happily finds her spot to snooze the afternoon away. She was initially nervous about the car, but after many great trips to the park, she enjoys rides and comes along on errands. Issa had a rough start early in life, as she was abandoned and poorly cared for, which caused her to loose some fur. She now has a beautiful white coat, and is a happy, healthy, playful girl. Please consider adopting Issa. She is a real sweetheart, and deserves a wonderful family whom she will adore in return. She will be a tremendously loyal and will be a loving companion for some lucky family.

We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt coalition of Pyr rescuers and rescue groups. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes to learn how they will interact with your family. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks or more, spayed or neutered and fully vetted before placement. NGPR will take back any dog who does not succeed in its new home. Many NGPR volunteers are members of the AKC breed club, adhere to their rescue guidelines for purebred Pyrs and apply these standards to the adoption of Pyr mixes as well.
