Jeffrey is a sweet natured, 23 mo old purebred Great Pyrenees neutered male. Lifelong neglect has left him small for his age, but he is turning around quickly and is young enough to grow to be normal size by age 3. Jeffrey has gained 20 lbs in 4 weeks after rescue, now weighs 77 lbs. Loves everything, everyone. Cats, kids, other dogs. Has no known vices, no digging, barking, jumping, climbing, etc. Due to a superficial injury to his neck skin & hair, from being chained with a log chain, Jeffrey is walking on a leash with a harness and doing well, but will need more practice with that. Very willing, eager to please, obedient. This guy will get into your heart, he is so deserving, so very sweet natured, and very nearly perfect. Above ground fencing, home visit & veterinary reference required. Jeffrey needs to have a companion dog, preferably a spayed female, and Darlin', his bonded buddy would be perfect.NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Jeffrey Age: 23 months Color: White Dew Claws: yes Estimated Adult Weight: 100+ lbs Origin: MO Current Location: MO Medical: Neutered, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. Thanks. About Us: National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt coalition of Pyr rescuers and rescue groups. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes to learn how they will interact with your family. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks or more, spayed or neutered and fully vetted before placement. NGPR will take back any dog who does not succeed in its new home. Many NGPR volunteers are members of the AKC breed club, adhere to their rescue guidelines for purebred Pyrs and apply these standards to the adoption of Pyr mixes as well.
