B.G. is a super dog, a large, 100+ lb, neutered male, purebred Great Pyrenees LGD - Livestock Guardian Dog. He is healthy & robust at almost 5 yrs old. He is unique as a combo dog, he is socialized, easily handled by anyone, quiet, no bad habits, sweet natured, rides easily, good behavior at the vet. Nothing sneaky about him, no hidden triggers, he is honest, wide open, what you see is what you get. He never challenges whatever enclosure he is in. This dog is a solid, dependable, working dog that will also cross over as a combo companion/farm dog, safe for anyone, anything. He will be a formidable guardian, no matter what his designated job. His lifelong history is goats or sheep, works single or in a pair, unflappable disposition. His availability for adoption is in no way his fault, the farm was lost. In fact, predator losses stopped immediately when he arrived at the farm, even though he was only a very young pup at the time. Never another loss of lamb or kid since, not one. He is not chicken tested, but he is not high prey, he guards, he is quiet, it would be inconceivable to imagine him bothering a chicken or anything else. We would like to see him paired with a female companion, either as a working dog or as a farm/companion dog. He will not complain, no matter what, but he would be happier with an opposite sex companion. We also prefer experienced LGD folks, so any mishaps would not be blamed on him. This dog is proven, safe, and so very good natured, he is a priceless gem in this type of dog. He is fully vetted, UTD on all vacs, worming, HW neg & on preventatives, comes with a USDA certificate of health. Requirements are veterinary reference, home/farm visit, above ground fencing, and adoption contract stipulating that the dog is returned to NGPR if not wanted or cannot be cared for, for whatever reason.
