Description:
Please contact Carolyn Jordan (bearcreekrescue@getgoin.net) for more information about this pet. Seneca is a handsome, loveable, sweet natured youngster, eager for a new home and forever family. Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix. He doesn't know much, but that's ok, preferable to having 'baggage' as many rescues do. He is small at 52 lbs, 15-18 months old. He will not grow as large as a purebred Pyr, but he is thin now & will add at least another 25 lbs with good nutrition and will grow to age 3 years. Found on the OK/MO border, taken into shelter as a stray, unclaimed due to a heavy intake of dogs in that area, he is a dear, deserving boy. He will be drop dead gorgeous very shortly, and is very willing & eager to please. No vices noted, no problems with cats, other dogs, children, or strangers. No excessive barking, digging, not an escape artist, just very nearly a perfect dog. Behaves himself as a gentleman at the vet, on a leash, just anywhere. Hops in & out of the car on command, rides well, loves to go. Nice family dog. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes to learn how they will interact with your family. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks or more, spayed or neutered and fully vetted before placement. NGPR will take back any dog who does not succeed in its new home. Many NGPR volunteers are members of the AKC breed club, adhere to their rescue guidelines for purebred Pyrs and apply these standards to the adoption of Pyr mixes as well. Visit www.nationalpyr.org to learn more about us, our mission and our breed. More Information: Questions? The fastest way to learn more about a dog is to fill out the application form below.
