Description:
Homer is a 3-4 year old male great dane. He is a stunning merle color and has an amazing personality. He is a GIANT boy and stands almost as tall as a couple of our vollunteers. He has croped ears and has a very regal look. He is the deffinition of Gentle Giant. He is super sweet and just wants to be loved. Homer was surrendered to us by a family that found him roaming in a very rural area. He was clearly abandoned and from the condition of his feet it looks like he had been running for a very long time. His poor feet were torn up, and they were a bloody mess. He is recovering well but still a little tender at times. He is such a sweet boy we have no idea why someone would do such a thing for a great dog like this. Homer is a sweet boy and seems to be very well behaved. With his past being unknown we cant offer much other then what we have seen here. He is a sweet guy and all he has wanted to do is come inside and nap on the floor. He is a mellow boy and loves to just follow you around. Homer has been great with other dogs and cats. Never even looking at the cats twice even when they decided to be less then nice to him. He was unintersted in the livestock and I dont think he even noticed the Rabbits. He also has no qualms about rubbing all over his feet, legs, face, or anything. He is a GREAT dog. He doesnt seem to know much for obedience but we are working on that too. Homer had never been in a crate before being here so he is learning about crate training and doing well. We also are working on his basic obedience such as sit, down, heel, and recall. He is a great boy and learning very fast. He is housebroken and does great if left alone in the house for any length of time. He is a good boy and just needs alot of love. Homer has been altered and is up to date on his shots. He also has been dewormed and had a flea treatment as a percaution. We have seen no allergies or any issues with his diet, or anything else. He is a really healthy boy other then his sore feet which are healing fast. We are asking a 350.00 adoption fee to help cover the cost of his vet care and medical treatment while he was here. If you are intersted in adopting this boy please let us know. We would love to hear from you. Please email for an application.
