Description:
For more information about this Dane, please visit our website at www.rmgreatdane.org. Adoption Applications can be found on the home page. Moose Moose is a loving 1-year-old Black male Dane with natural ears. He came to Rescue because his owner was losing his house. We believe he was previously restricted to a garage and abused. Despite his background, Moose is extremely friendly and does well with dogs, cats and children. Like many loyal Danes, he doesn’t go far without “checking in” on his people! He bonds strongly to a single person and becomes easily distracted from routine things – such as eating and playing – when his special person is not nearby! Because of his previous lack of attention by humans and his current obsession with them, Moose takes some time to adjust when left alone. While he does not have seperation anxiety, he does miss his foster mom terribly when left alone. RMGDRI's behaviorist feels that this is a workable situation and just requires a family that is patient and will work with him through his initial adjustment period. Moose is very well trained – indoors and out. He knows all of his basic commands and is totally trustworthy with free roam. Moose is a complete lover and protector who will make a loyal addition to one lucky family with lots of love to give. Moose's current foster mom (CO) takes him everywhere with her and he is rarely left alone which of course he just loves. He currently lives with another Dane, a cat, and a 12 year old and is doing well in this environment. We have recently discovered that he requires TPLO surgery. The Rescue will be raising funds to cover the cost of his surgery.
