Meet Kingsley, he is a 7-8 month old male Dane pup. he was turned into a shelter by his family because they didn't want to deal with his medical issues. If you look you will see that his rear end is misaligned. It almost looks as though he grew too fast and was kept crated for way too long. He has an appointment with an orthopedic specialist next week so we should know more about what we can do to help him so he can find his very own home! So far he has been such an awesome puppy in his foster home! He gets along great with the other 2 dogs in the foster home and is even ok with cats. He is very well behaved and loves to play and wrestle. He sleeps through the night on a dog bed beside his foster mom's bed and is completely housetrained and will wake you up if he needs to go out. Kingsley's adoption fee is $325 1/13/10 - Kingsley has seen an orthopedic specialist, and we're told that he needs surgery in both knees to properly realign them so he can have the normal gait and comfort that he deserves. The misalignment is severe, and with surgery, he could go from a grade 4 misalignment (grade 5 being the most severe) to a grade 1 - a substantial improvement! Time is of the essense for Kingsley right now. The specialist needs to be able to perform his surgery asap because in as little as 4-5 months from now, it may not be possible to fix his kness at all and, eventually, Kingsley may lose his ability to walk without pain. 1/22/10 - Kingsley had surgery on his knees yesterday. So far, he's recovering well. Time will tell if this will correct the problem or if he will need more surgery. We are still raising funds to cover the cost of this surgery. Please donate if you can!!
