Description:
For more information about this Dane, please visit our website at www.rmgreatdane.org. Adoption Applications can be found on the home page. Hannah is a sweet, 4 year old, Fawn Dane with natural ears. She was used as a breeding dog in Montana for the first three-plus years of her life, and then adopted from a shelter by a breeder in Iowa who abandoned her after his dogs attacked her. He immediately drove her back to the shelter in the bed of his pick-up in a driving snow storm over 50 miles. After three days in the pound, one of our own volunteers spotted her in the shelter and appealed to RMGDRI. The shelter surrendered her to us and the rest is history. She is currently living with a foster family who is working on basic training and providing proper nourishment and really just helping her adjust to living with people. She is extremely timid. Despite never being trained before Rescue, Hannah is very intelligent and a quick learner. She is fully house trained and responding well to indoor living; however, due to separation anxiety, she cannot yet be trusted with free roam. Hannah walks well on a leash and has demonstrated no aggression toward dogs, adults or children (her foster family has four young children, she is very calm and gentle with them); she has not yet been tested with cats. Hannah is learning key social skills every day and beginning to love, trust and understand kindness. She will make a very special addition to a loving family with the patience and determination to continue to un-do the treatment that Hannah has experienced in her past.
