Gabriel is an affectionate 3-year-old male fawnequin (half white, half harlequin) Dane with natural ears. He came back to Rescue after being adopted by a loving family as a puppy three years ago. His previous owners were devastated to have to return him, but Gabriel began acting out (i.e. eating diapers, bibs, etc.) with a new baby in the home. They were concerned for his welfare and also could no longer afford to care for his pain issues. The Rescue is looking into his hip and knee issues. According to his foster mom, Gabriel is truly a Velcro Dane. He loves his humans and needs to be touched and get lots of attention. “Gabriel is a large Dane but he is just a total delight,” his foster mom says. “Gabriel likes to put your hand in his mouth and lead you around the house; he especially likes to do this when you come home after being gone for awhile.” Gabriel also likes to fetch tennis balls, go for rides in the car and take walks. He does well on his leash with the use of his harness. He has a lot of energy and needs daily exercise and stimulation. Gabriel knows some of his basic commands and his foster family is working on continuing his training. He is friendly with most dogs and gets along well with the children in the neighborhood; however, cats are not his cup of tea. Gabriel is an affectionate and loving dog who will make a wonderful addition to the right family.
