Athena is a devoted 2.5 year old black female Dane with natural ears. She came to Rescue after being relegated to the basement of the owner’s house with very little socialization or attention. Despite her difficult past, Athena is all heart and her highest priority is pleasing her humans. Although she is timid around men at first, she warms up quickly with consistent encouragement. Athena is still learning what toys are and the joy of playing, but she is learning quickly! She is fully house and crate trained and knows her basic commands. She is also learning the joys of carpet and comfortable living. Athena loves children and likes to give them sweet kisses on the face. She is especially attached to her foster mom, and although she’s been called a “one person Dane,” Athena loves everyone in her family. She currently lives in an active household with two small children and two dogs. This special girl will thrive in a patient and loving home with a soft hand and the energy and commitment to continue her progress toward full socialization.
