Male, 3 years, Black, Natural Ears Ares Status: Available Ares is a friendly 3-year-old male black Dane with natural ears. He came to Rescue when his previous owners could no longer afford to care for him. His foster mom says, “Ares has a fairly mellow, but sometimes playful personality. He is quite the couch potato, and is content snuggling up next to us when we are watching a movie or TV. He loves human interaction, and the constant attention we give him. He is a big-time leaner and will follow us all around the house.” Ares is house trained, and his foster family is working on teaching him his commands. He does very well on walks and rarely pulls on the leash. He gets along well with dogs and children; he has not been tested with cats. His foster mom adds, “Ares is a very sweet boy, and he has stolen our hearts with his galloping around the yard and jumping up straight into the air to check out the chickens next door! He would do well in a home where someone could spend time working with him on his commands, as well as continuing to give him lots of love and positive attention.” Ares has tested heartworm positive and will be receiving treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery.
