Description:
Gatsby is a 2yo male golden retriever mix who was surrendered by his owner who had no time for him. Gatsby has a medium-low activity level, goes outside to do his business then comes right back in. He's content just lying beneath my desk as I work on the computer or watch TV. Likes to go for walks, loves to be with people, enjoys being petted and brushed. Great with kids, cats and other dogs. He's submissive to my other dogs, quickly relinquishing his food bowl or play toy to the others. Recommended for children 6 years and older. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. Knows basic commands. Housebroken and crate-trained. No issues such as separation anxiety, counter surfing or barking. Weighs about 50#, healthy, altered and utd on shots. When he first came to us Gatsby was timid and unsure, tail tucked, scared. But after a couple of days he began to come out of his shell and get comfortable in his new surroundings, tail held high and wagging, playing with dog toys, mingling with the other dogs, and interacting well with all the humans in the family. WHAT A SWEET DOG he is! Gatsby may be a golden retriever mix but he has the 100% famous golden temperament. He's sweet and gentle, loving and eager to please, calm and low maintenance. We no longer crate him because he's completely housebroken and he never bothers anything in the house even when left alone for hours. He wants to be close to his people, he's happiest when he's right in the middle of things. He's good with my dogs and very tolerant of the pesky little puppies who want to jump all over him. Just ignores the cats. Loves kids and lets them hug and kiss him! Gatsby is an awesome dog and he deserves a forever family who will appreciate him and give him the love and attention that he deserves. To adopt please fill out an adoption application. For more information about our adoption procedures and fees, please visit our homepage at Good Dog Rescue. For more information or if your have questions email us at info@gooddogrescue.com.
