Description:
Meet Amy and Her Babies Can you see the sadness in their eyes?
Amy and her puppies were dumped on a high traffic bridge here in Alba.
We found her there waiting on her owner to return for her. Abandoned with her 7 puppies scattered everywhere, freezing, skin and bones, mangy and left to die. Sadly, one had already met his fate and past. What we think may have been the Daddy dog, or perhaps just a dog that was thrown over the bridge was not a pretty site.
All have a horrendous case of Sarcopic Mange which is a highly contagious disease that spreads from dog to dog and even dog to people. It causes extreme itching, hair loss and sores. Not a fun way to live by any means. Amy is a really sweet doggie, when we arrived at the Bridge she was leery of us, but greeted us with a waging tail and a that sad look of abandonment. It was obvious she was waiting for her owner to return and anyone that got out of a car she was hoping was them. Yes, the ones that abandoned her, she faithfully waits for their return. Just believing that the person she committed her life to would come back to get her and that is why she stays in the spot where they left her. The puppies were scattered out everywhere probably because of the constant traffic and road noise. One Puppy had already died and we found a decomposing corpse of an adult dog in the ravine amongst trash and clothing thrown out.
One more thing you should knowÂFeb, 2008 an Angel Tammy Bolton and her daughter, rescued another set of puppies from the same bridge. We suspect this may be the Momma dog as those puppies had Sarcopic, starving, no hair in the same condition, but no Momma to be found. Here they are:. PLEASE HELP US HELP THEM! ** Spread the Word that dumping dogs is illegal **There is a better way **Call your rescues **Ask for help. ANYTHING is better than dumping them out to die a horrendous death.
We are treating the puppies now for their Mange and should be available for adoption in about 4 weeks. If interested, please email judy@r-pal.org or call 1-888-473-7725. Thank you for helping these little ones that deserve so much more!
