Ruby is 7-8 year old, female gsp, spayed & micro chipped. She's on hw preventative and flea/tick control medication, house trained, & cat friendly. She loves her stuffed animals, and gets along well with other dogs and people, however she can be timid until she gets to know them. She currently lives with a coon hound and a rat-terrier mix, both female, but reportedly gets along well with males. She enjoys a light activity level, and enjoys finding and pointing at critters. She respects a six foot privacy fence, & doesn't dig. She sleeps on her dog bed at night, and very much enjoys her person. She gets along ok with children, but can be startled by toddlers. She will bark at people coming to the door, but walks away once they enter. She is being surrendered because of her nervousness around the toddler & is currently medicated during thunder storms if no one can keep her company. Her fear of storms has driven her to escape from kennels & crates and scale the six foot fence. She is currently calmed without meds with petting and audio distraction (radio/tv), however this is on leash, with her person by her side. Overall, she is a kind, shy girl who loves her people, but has her fears. She is non-aggressive and not a biter. She would do best in a loving home without a lot of loud noises or other excessive stimulation. Ruby is being fostered in WV.
