Description:
Owen is a neutered male, approximately 15 to 18 months old. He weighs 52 lbs currently and will probably fill out somewhere around 60 lbs. He is UTD on his vaccinations, micro chipped , and on heartworm prevention. He is totally housetrained. He is a handsome guy. His head is classic GSP. He is dark liver with a liver roan undercarriage. Owen is still very much a puppy. He loves playing with his 3 GSP 'brothers' and gets along well with other dogs as well. He likes to be wherever his people are, following us all around the house or yard. We have crated him, however he is happier not crated. A dog safe area of the house would be the best option for him during work hours when people aren't home. He appears to be relatively fearless. Not much has startled him. He rides well in the car and enjoys meeting new people (more pets for him !). He's not much of a barker, but he will cry initially when left alone. He is cat sharp or not. He met our cat once, eye to eye, but didn't try to chase or hurt her. The safest option is a non cat home. Owen loves attention and will cuddle right up with you . He currently sleeps in our bedroom, often on the bed with us. We've asked him to please sleep in his dog bed, and he will reluctantly re-locate. He is extremely athletic, springing into the air to get a treat. Perhaps he should have been named 'Pogo' instead. We have him contained in a 4.5 foot physical fence with an internal perimeter E-fence. Without the E-fencing, he would need a 6 foot fence. He can fly over the 4.5 foot fence with no trouble. Owen and his new family will benefit from obedience classes. He will sit when asked (treat) and will come when called (a positive by product of his desire to be with you). He will pull if walked with his regular collar, but has done much better with a prong collar. Owen is looking for a family who will give him lots of hugs and attention. In return, he will be your best friend. Owen is being fostered in Aberdeen, MD.
