'This dog is so much fun,' the good Samaratin who is currently caring for him, writes. Bruno a stray from a very rural part of Tennessee where dogs are too often just dumped to fend for themselves. He showed up with a collar and no tags just before Christmas. Despite best efforts to locate his owners, no one has stepped up to claim him. Bruno is a handsome strong male, approximately 2 years old (estimated birth date 1-23-08). He is a playful dog with lots of energy. He likes to herd the other dogs (or whatever is herd-able)so we would not recommend him for a home with livestock, smaller dogs or very young children. He'll do best in a home where he will get obedience training and plenty of regular exercise.
As with ALL YOUNG GERMAN SHEPHERDS we strongly encourage the new adoptive family to enroll the dog in an obedience class to facilitate bonding and help with the transformation into the best dog you've ever had.
If you are interested in adopting a new family member from our organization, please complete the online adoption application. It is the first step to bringing home your new family member.
All dogs listed as ADOPTABLE are indeed still available. Matching the right dog with the right family sometimes takes a while, so your patience is appreciated. Our adoption fees are: $300 for any dog 1 year and younger (BABY) $250 for any dog 1-3 years (YOUNG) $200 for any dog 3-7 years (ADULT) $150 for dogs over 7 (SENIOR)
The adoption fee helps cover expenses for the dogs while in the rescue program including the vet check, vaccines, heartworm testing, stool check, spay/neuter , microchip, plus other necessary veterinary care and training to get the dog ready for adoption.
Everyone must submit an application before an appointment is made to meet the dogs. We are not a shelter, but a network of foster homes. Therefore there is no one central location where multiple dogs can be viewed. We work BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
