Monty is a sweet 'young' senior shepherd/elkhound mix with a perpetually cheerful disposition. With his gorgeous plush black sable coat, we think of him as a 'great northern teddy bear.' At 8 yrs. old, Monty is young enough to enjoy a long walk without tiring. At the same time, he is mature enough to also be able to enjoy quiet times at home between activities. Monty's many loves include walks, rides in the car, snow, and meal time. He gets along well with other dogs, and has also tested well with cats. He doesn't care much for being crated, but has excellent house manners even when he is alone in the house. He is a very sociable boy and has never met a stranger. Monty is fully healed and rehabilitated from knee surgery for a torn ligament, and needs a daily glucosamine supplement to prevent arthritis. Monty clearly has plenty of life and love to give.
