Description:
Beginning on January 18th, please vote for us on The Animal Rescue Site! If we win, we could get up to $10,000 in grants to help rescue dogs! Think of how many German shepherds we could help with $10,000! It's completely free to do, and we promise you won't be bombarded with pop-up ads or have to sign up for anything. You just go to the web site by clicking this image, then go to the 'Shelter+ Challenge' tab (on the right hand side), enter our name, Hominy Valley German Shepherd Rescue, the state (NC), and submit! Every time you vote, or tell a friend to vote, you are making a huge difference for us. Please vote today, tomorrow, and every day! We only have until April 18th! You can also help feed shelter animals by clicking the purple button that says 'Click Here to Give -- It's FREE!' on their main site, so feel free to do that every day as well when you go to vote for us! Ranger is a courtesy listing. Please contact Phyllis for more information. Click her name to e-mail, or call 276-870-0929 or 276 346 2501. Ranger is located in Jonesboro, Virginia. Ranger is just over a year old and was pulled from the pound late in the spring of this year. My daughter chose Ranger and was really thinking that he would be a more laid-back type of dog since that is how he came across to her when he was in there. She knows that they are different in different situations but she didn't think he would be so opposite. He is wide-open all the time. He wants to herd us. Always wants to direct us as to the way that he thinks we should go. He anticipates where he thinks I should be headed and tries to channel me in that direction He is good natured and wants so badly to please us. He is an excellent watch dog. He is very exhuberant, so probably should be in a home without young children, as he could easily knock them over. I have a horse and Ranger aggravates him until he is up in the furthest part of the field or in the barn. We also have 2 chickens and he has hurt both of them but they are both alive, when he could have easily killed them. They have to be up when he is loose and vise versa. He sleeps with one of our kittens, but chases the outdoor cats if they run. We have taught him to sit, but not stay. He listens to me and comes to me but if theres a cat or horse that has his attention, then he has to constantly be called back. I live next to the four-lane but he is afraid of it. We are glad of that! Because Ranger is not in our foster care program, we cannot offer the gift of Sheltercare or 24PetWatch to her adopter. Please contact the person named, directly. We do not know any more about this dog than what is written here. This pet is eligible for 30-45 days of pre-paid pet health insurance and/or 30 days of pre-paid renter's insurance! This pet is microchipped with a 24PetWatch microchip, which includes free registration into the 24PetWatch pet recovery service.
