Gorgeous shepherd mix boy, about 3 yrs old, dumped by his owner in southern Missouri because they just didn't want a dog anymore. Yet Barney has nothing but love for people and other dogs. When Barney was being transported, one leg became entangled in his tether. It accidentally got twisted up with a seatbelt, and he was an absolute angel while we worked to get him free. Here he was, totally traumatized by being dumped in a gassing shelter, his home and people gone, facing dangers he's never known, put in a car with complete strangers ... and he allowed a total stranger to be literally in his face for 15 minutes while he was in pain and paniced. Twice he gently put his mouth on the rescuer's arm to let her know it hurt, and that was it!!! He is truly a gentle soul with the most soulful eyes in his handsome face. He's great on car rides, does pretty well on leash, is very responsive to love and wants to please his human. Barney will make a wonderful lifetime companion for some lucky family!
