Poor Kenai has not had a great start in life. His Mom first came to our Shelter almost 2 years ago, pregnant with 11 puppies. All of the puppies were adopted out into what we thought were good homes. Almost two years later we were contacted by the man who had adopted Kenai. He had to get rid of his dog. When he brought Kenai in, he was a nervous wreck. It seems the man did not honor our wishes and keep Kenai as an inside dog. Instead he was tied up outside and forgotten about. Sure they fed him, but that was about the extent of it. Kenai is scared of everything but kids and other dogs. He likes them.
Luckily, although scared of everything, Kenai is not a fear biter or aggressive in any way.
This incredibly handsome and gentle boy is going to need a home with patient people. He MUST be an inside dog in his next home, after all, he deserves nothing less. He must also go to a home with a fenced in yard. This way, if he is outside and something scares him, he cannot run off to find a hiding place.
Kenai CANNOT go to a home with CATS. He does not get along with them.
Kenai's adoption fee is $125, which includes nueter surgery and vaccinations (parvo/distemper and rabies.)
