He is really gangly, long legged and had webbed feet. High energy. Lucas came into rescue @ 3 months in Oct. 2006, he was skin & bones, a lady found him on the side of the road on a Saturday, she called my vet, he gave her my number, she brought him to me 3 days later, still sickly and hardly eating. He was full of worms and had giardia and cocitia, I nursed him back to health. He got his name because the little boy who's family found him was named Lucas, he cried so hard the day his mother brought him to me because he wanted to keep him, his mom said he was too young for the responsibility. So, I asked him what his name was and agreed to name him Lucas in his honor.
One day, Mags owners called asking about a groomer for Mags, so I sent them to mine, they stopped by, the Dad fell in love with Lucas, said he reminded him of his old dog that had passed a few years back before he was married. He begged his wife, she agreed so they took him home. Mags and Lucas have been together ever since.
They have come to visit when they family goes on vacation twice, been fine everytime. The little boy LOVES Lucas, cried each time they dropped them off, afraid Lucas wasn't coming home. The fact that they are losing their pets is so sad, my heart aches for the kids. The little girl made it her responsibility to feed them everyday.
Lucas is athletic, great runner and listener, very comical. Mags is very effectionate, and loves to play in water and get dirty. They are like ying & yang by themselves, but together, they are like two peas in a pod. They love each other, when they visit, they have to been within eye contact of each other at all times, if either is playing with other dogs and loses sight of the other, they immediately stop playing and go find each other, lick each others faces. At their home, they have invisible fencing with collars, as long as fence is on they stay in the yard.
