Herman is a Courtesy Listing for Southern California Bulldog Rescue -
What we know so far, is Herman does not like cats or other dogs. He's very active and a strong walker, poorly trained on a leash and pulls badly when on walks. He's very affection with people and prefers to sit near people and even will get on a bench or seat area next to you for comfort. He's untested with children, though he has not shown any interest in children walking near by. He's a joy in his own yard and very attentive to people in the yard - with some training, he's going to be a wonderful companion in a short time.
Most likely he'll do best in a home with a strong fenced yard, since he was in the shelter we are assuming he got lose from a yard that wasn't fenced well - he does try to get out of his yard areas and 'paces' the fence area looking for away to explore more.
Our adoption process asks for an application and that we do a home visit to check your yard/home to be a match for the bulldog. The rescues bulldogs can be a mixed bag - for example, some are good with pets and other aren't, we need to know more about your home, other pets or children though an application to better understand the home.
We mostly foster in private homes and will be asking you to go meet the dog at their foster home on in this case at our kennel offices, so you can see the dog in a comfortable setting and see first hand the dog is with visitors/guests. Our first step is the application, www.socalbulldogrescue.org If we can be of any more assistance with the application please let us know, we look forward to following up with meeting you soon.
