Description:
I was found hungry and thin, abandoned in a local forest and unable to walk due to several shot gun pellets in my hind quarters. A kind family found me and took me to their vet for care and antibiotics. As this family could not keep me, I was placed with another wonderful family while a good home for me is found. I am healing from my injuries, can walk great now and am gaining weight. They tell me I am just about the nicest dog they've ever met. My coat is very soft and lush brown/black brindle with some splatters of white, with the sweetest disposition ever! I love people, other dogs, and am not too concerned with the horde of five cats living with me now. My current foster mom is teaching me to walk on a leash, sit, stay and come. I’m mastering them beautifully, she says! I have been temperament tested in that I am not food aggressive, love to play with the other dogs in this family, never growl, and am not terribly interested in cats (I think they are silly and smell funny). The cuckoo clock gets my attention, though! (What's up with that thing, anyway?). I have been walked through a number of different social situations and strangers are welcome to come up and pet me. I love children! I don’t chase bikes or cars (or cats!), and am comfortable in a group of people. There is nothing aggressive about my demeanor. Did I mention that I am drop-dead gorgeous handsome? I have beautiful kind brown eyes that say “I love you“ over and over again. I will be fine with a family of children, other dogs, and (heaven forbid), cats. I don’t seem to be a barker, but will let you know if someone that I don’t know is getting near. I will be very loyal and need someone who is willing to give me the love and training I need to be a part of a family. I really try and am smart as a whip, so please give me a chance! Luke is truly exceptional and will make a wonderful family pet. The family that takes Luke must have a fenced in yard and references.
