Meet Trevor, a female, purebred appearing Doberman Pinscher.
Approximately three years of age (Date of birth-whelped estimated: 2005)
Trevor was brought to Iowa from another Doberman Rescue. She had been in a boarding kennel for a very long time and was starting to wear on her mental and physical health.
She is now better, and getting along fine, both mentally and physically.
She is a very intelligent dog and needs an experience Doberman family, with no other pets, and no small children. Basic obedience with her new family will be mandatory, with the positive reinforcement trainer of your choice in your area.
This dog would be eligible for AKC ILP papers. http://www.akc.org/reg/ilpex.cfm
The AKC's Indefinite Listing Privilege (ILP), is a program that allows unregistered dogs of registrable breeds to compete in AKC Performance and Companion Events such as, obedience, agility, and other similar AKC activities.
The adoption fee for this dog is set at $175, which includes: $100 placement fee, a $25 rebate upon successful completion of basic obedience training, and a $50 tax-deductible donation (to offset higher then normal medical cost).
Please remember that every animal available for adoption through an A.P.E.-affiliated organization is fully-vetted for its age and only needs routine preventive care. Dogs older then 6 months of age are heartworm tested; all cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FELUK/FIV). All dogs are kept on heartworm preventative. Every dog and cat is vaccinated (age appropriate), microchipped, and de-wormed, in addition to being spayed/neutered.
We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to lining up an appointment to visit the animal(s) at the animal's home.
For more information on our adoption procedures, (such as requiring adopters to travel to central Iowa to pick the animal up when approved to adopt as A.P.E. does not ship animals or meet people half way) or to obtain a pre-adoption questionnaire to become eligible to adopt, please visit our website's Adoption Page.
