We restrict our adoption area to Maryland, DC, and Virginia. If you are on the boarder of Maryland or Virginia, please apply--decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
My name is Sally. I am an 11-year-old, spayed, liver-spotted female. My brother, my sisters, my mom and I were left in a bad place, but we ended up being saved by some very nice people. My foster mom is wonderful, and the only way I can say thank you to her is to be PERFECT. My foster mom says I am perfect because I am not destructive, not aggressive towards any living creature, I do not bark, and I am house- and crate-trained. Yes, I have my shots and all that stuff. And, yes I am fabulous with cats, other dogs, birds, etc. - foster mom said she could verify all that.
My foster mom tells me I am beautiful, but I have not seen a mirror for many months - she tells me it is what is in my heart that is the most beautiful. Foster mom says that I am so easy to care for because I don't ask for much and I never complain. She often mentions that I might acutally get a permanent, loving home, but she doubts that it will be with one of sisters or my brother. She says many families end up broken, but that does not mean I cannot find a family of my very own to mend and grow with!!!
What she could not promise me is that some kind human soul would come forth to adopt me. She has prepared me for the worst rejection, but she has also given me the hope that goodness and mercy will be my destiny. I'm just a tiny little girl (as you can see in the picture with my six-year-old friend!) who just wants a family of my own to love. I promise I won't be much trouble at all. Do you have a warm bed I could share?
Respectfully yours,
SALLY
