Description:
Please contact Gid (smokehill@comcast.net) for more information about this pet. We restrict our adoption area to Maryland, DC, and Virginia. If you are on the boarder of Maryland or Virginia, please apply--decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. Lady Diana wants your love and support. Her medical expenses have exceeded $1,000 already, but we will spend whatever it takes to keep her comfortable for the time she has left. While her health has continued to deteriorate in spite of our best efforts, her spirits have been amazingly high. This beautiful liver-spotted gal lived in Hell until she came into CCDAL a year and a half ago. She was chained outside for the first 8 years of her life where she was required to produce litter after litter of puppies. During that time, her vet care was less than adequate. She was found with a breast cancer the size of a softball which we had removed by a radical masectomy. Unfortunately, this cancer has spread all over her body. Rather than put her through any more trauma, we have elected to provide her with our own version of hospice care. She will live out her life in her current foster home where she will be loved and cared for and be surrounded with the only real family she has ever known--until the day comes when she tells us she is ready to cross the bridge...that her work here is done and she needs to rest. Until then, she will be warm and snug on her bed next to the roaring fire. Lady Diana must have been the best of mothers, because in her foster home she has decided that her duty is to 'mother' all of the dogs that need extra TLC...the old, the young, the sick, and the lame. She is our own Princess Diana. Lady Di loves everyone, especially small children, and she is not shy about planting kisses on everybody she meets. She loves other dogs and cats. She just does her magic wherever she is, and her magic is LOVE. Lady Diana has a message from her friends at CCDAL:Breast cancer has the same statistic in female dogs as female humans -- 1 in 9 human women will develop breast cancer, so will 1 in 9 UNSPAYED FEMALE DOGS. Do not be 'cheap' and leave your female dog un-spayed to face this fate. If you could contribute toward my medical care, CCDAL would be really grateful to you!
