Description:
Please contact Stacy (webmaster@homeagainrescue.com) for more information about this pet. SMILING DALMATIAN!!! Herbie is one of the 'smiling Dalmatians,' lifting his lips and showing his teeth in a submissive grin! He does this every time he greets you. He leads well, likes to go on walks, and loves to ride in the car. Herbie's time was up in the Georgia shelter he came from. Abused! No one wanted him probably because it is apparent Herbie was abused. He is submissive and shy. Someone hurt him enough to make him scared. He would sink to the ground and act like he was going to get hit; but we are changing that! We think his life was worth saving! He is very friendly! His photos don't do his justice. He may be a Dalmatian mixed with Lab or German Shorthair Pointer, but in any case, Herbie has nice spotting and is a handsome boy! Due to his fears, he first tried to escape, but he has found out Home Again Rescue is a pretty good place! Being 'low on the totum pole,' Herbie warms up slowly to other dogs, but is good with them. He has now made dog friends here. He does not have a mean bone in his body. Like all Dalmatians, Herbie wants to be loved. He likes going for walks, attention, hugs, and treats. He needs a loving family to show him this kind of love. I would recommend a home with children over 6 or teenagers, but not toddlers or a strong alpha dog.....not because Herbie would ever hurt them, but because they may unknowingly scare him! If someone wants a handsome, young, energetic Dalmatian and has the patience to help Herbie overcome his abuse, this is YOUR dog!
