Name: Lola Age: 6 years Color: Solid Black Coat: Smooth Sex: Female/Spayed Size: Tweenie – 15 lbs.
Lola lost her home when her owners moved to an apartment and subsequently had a baby. They had very little time for her. Lola loves to be outside and out-and-about, so she was unhappy with her situation.
Lola loves to cuddle, but she can take a moment to warm up to strangers. Given a few seconds (or a treat), and she's all over the company and happily napping in their laps.
Lola lives for her walks. She is so excited about them that she is a puller. We expect this will get better as she gets walked regularly and goes on adventures. Lola would really benefit from a harness.
Lola is living with lots of other dachshunds and doing well with them. She had been an only dog in her past life, but within just a few days after coming into rescue, she started to join the doxie party games.
We think Lola would do fine with teenagers. When she lived with the baby, she was very good about keeping his face clean, so she might be ok with gentle younger children. We don't know how she is with cats.
Lola is crate trained and housetrained. She prefers to sleep in her dog bed rather than the crate. Of course, you could entice her to sleep with you in the big bed, too!
Lola is being fostered in the San Francisco area.
