Description:
Female Sable Rough Collie
Baby was picked up by animal control as a stray and was loaded with burrs and dead, matted hair. She was incredibly sweet and patient for me during while I brushed and combed all the mats and burrs away. I can’t say enough about her gentle disposition and patience with whatever you want to do with her. She is underweight and you can feel her vertebrae and her hipbones when you pet her, but with regular feeding, she should pick up her weight. She is 23” at her shoulder and currently weighs 42.5 lbs. She is being treated for kennel cough and is expected to be just fine. She is very low key and laid back, coexisting peacefully with my cats and other dogs. She does not have an alpha personality and no food aggression issues that I have observed. She will NOT get on the furniture, even when invited. She also will not beg while you are eating! She is house and crate trained, will walk on the leash without pulling, and loads and rides well in the car. She will jump up when she is excited (outside), but not forcefully. At some point, she was someone’s house dog, she will go outside to potty, but unless you are out with her, she does NOT want to stay outside for any extended period of time. She has been spayed and is heartworm negative. Even though she has faced hardship, her disposition is sweet and trusting. I can see why the animal control people chose the name Baby for her. She will make a lovely addition to anyone’s household.
