Jax is a 4 year old chocolate lab. He was chosen with affection from a pure breed litter about an hour North of Frisco, Texas. Jax came home to a family of three little girls (one en-route at the time) who have mothered him from the start. But, between the cuddling, and dressing and kisses, he was also crate-trained for house breaking and taken each week to obedience classes by Dad. Jax is an indoor dog, well adapted for indoor living, and has never been a chewer. He seems to respect boundaries set within the home and is easily subdued if the playing gets a little rough. Jax has been extremely well cared for, without a penny spared for grooming, vaccination or hygiene. His weight is where it should be and he does best when he is not given table food at all. Jax was neutered within the first year we had him. He has never displayed embarrassing behavior in that area and healed without complication. He has lived with us his entire four years, and has never had another pet as a companion. However, he seems to relish playing with other dogs at the park or on occasional play dates with neighborhood dogs. Jax is fiercely loyal and protective of our three daughters
.almost to the point it is difficult to discipline the kids themselves at times. Something they do not hesitate to take advantage of. He senses stress in the family and reacts by closely monitoring whoever seems upset. (Usually the pre-teen
HA) He is social. He is content to sit in the office while a family member works, or lie at the food of a bed while a child sleeps or lounge in the den while we watch a movie. Of course few things rival a family walk to the park, or an outing in the car while we run errands. He is always ready for an adventure. Jax is a beautiful, sweet and loving soul. He will be a treasured addition to any household, and dearly missed.
