ADOPTION PENDING. Gloria is one of 40 dogs recently rescued from a puppy mill in Lancaster, PA. She is a senior dog, at least 8 years old and weighs 6 lbs, who has been used as a breeder dog and nothing else. She never had a name, a home or a family. Every litter she ever gave birth to, was taken from her to be sold by the puppy mill owners. She never knew what a dog bed or dog toy was.... or kisses and hugs. Gloria was initially examined her by one of our veterinarians. Her blood work was completely normal and her heartworm test was negative. She has been dewormed and vaccinated. Unfortunately, she has 2 mammary lumps which may or may not be cancerous. Radiographs of the chest were taken to rule out any cancer in her chest. She also has pretty bad dental disease. She needs to be spayed and to have her lumps removed and biopsied. At a later date, she'll need to have a dental. Her spay/mammary tumor biopsy is scheduled for the later part of January. Regardless of the results of her biospy, she is a wonderful dog. LOVES to be held, LOVES people and LOVES all animals. She plays with her dog toys .... she loves to eat... she is 100% wee-wee pad trained ... she doesn't bark. Gloria loves to be loved and will sit in your arms for several hours. ( Her foster mom has the sore arms to prove it.) Once her surgeries are complete, she will need a forever home. For however many years she has left, whether few or many, she deserves to have a normal 'dog's life.' She is a special girl and deserves a special forever home. As stated on our home page we DO NOT ADOPT OUT OF STATE. Our Adoption Area is LIMITED to Philadelphia and the IMMEDIATE surrounding suburban counties . We DO NOT adopt out of state.
