Chula is a beautiful, young, playful chihuahua mix little girl under 2 years old and weighing around 7 pounds....she came from Animal Services and was scared of everything . They thought she had probably never been in a home.. I tend to agree as she barked fiercely at our television the first time she saw it,,,, Chewy is very smart and learns very fast,,,,she walks well on a leash and seems to pick up on anything you show her after a few minutes of slow intro time.... She is very playful and after finding out what a toy is, just loves them.... she lives here with several other dogs and one of her favorite games is take away the toy,,,, Chula loves to run and enjoys running in the fenced in back yard.... she is extremely fast and can be gone in a blink of an eye so a new Mom or Dad needs to be aware of that,,,but this same playful, energetic girl is also a lover after she gets to know you and likes nothing better than to crawl under your covers and cuddle on the couch to watch TV at night,,,,, Chula was treated for heartworms; however, she was re-tested for heartworms 6 months after treatment and is still testing positive. We were advised to continue her preventive for another 6 months and re-test again. She has sine been re-tested again and is still testing positive. She is to receive preventive for another 6 months and then re-test. Canine Castaways will provide her preventive and cover the cost of her re-test. Chula is a great dog and this is the only thinkg that has prevented her from finding a home of her own. Please don't let this scare you away. Give her a chance!!
