Description:
Thank you for your interest in one of our dogs. Once you have read the biography if he/she sounds like a match, please fill out an application on our website at www.dpsrescue.com. Adoption Fee for all adult dogs is $300. Puppies are $350. Seniors over the age of 10 years old are $150. All dogs are spayed or neutered, current on shots (DHPPC, Bordetella and Rabies), microchipped, Frontline for fleas and ticks and dewormed. Georgia is a 4-5 year old Chihuahua who came into our rescue from the shelter with 5 itty-bitty babies (who are now 11 weeks old but still itty bitty!). She was initially very protective of them and we understood. We have no idea what her story was before coming to the shelter but we can imagine it wasn't all roses. Now, that Georgia has hung up the Mommy Apron strings and is ready to find a home of her own, she is very sweet and kind. She likes other dogs and does very well with them. She loves toys. She got her to her foster home the first day and spotted the toy box and DOVE IN! She clearly knows about toys and is very happy to play with them. So please, get out your toy treasure chests with her.Georgia knows how to use the doggy door and didn't have an accident at her foster home as long as the doggy door was accessible or she was taken out regularly. Eventually she had free reign at her foster home with doggy door access and she was happy as could be.Georgia is definitely a lap dog. She loves to cuddle. She sleeps under the covers and though we certainly can't mandate that, how do you resist her cute little face? She is crate trained and travels well in her crate but prefers not to be in the crate if she does not have to be at home.
