About New Beginnings Dog Rescue We are an all volunteer, non profit, 501C3 organization who provides a safe placement of pets that are surrendered by their owners and dogs that have come from a pound or shelter. We also take in some cats when we have the room for them. What makes us different from a shelter is that we have only foster homes for the dogs and they live in the homes with their foster family, so they can observe them and know what they need work on and try to help them. We are able to tell the prospective adopters exactly what the dog is like, so there are no surprises. Our dogs that come in receive any necessary veterinary care, including required vaccinations and spaying/neutering and micro-chipping. Our animals are also all adopted out with 30 days of free heatlh insurance as a gift from the rescue. The dog is then placed for adoption through a pre-adoption process that includes an application, home visit interview with the applicant(s), and veterinarian reference check. We depend on our adoption fees and donations to help us care for these animals while in foster care.
Tino is a 5 year old white, longhaired Chihuahua and weighs just under 12 lbs. His name is actually Valentino as he was born on Valentine’s Day, but his call name is Tino His owner surrendered him due to her own failing health. He is the sweetest little guy you'd ever want to meet. He is timid in new situations, but he always maintains his gentlemanly demeanor, and is comforted by a warm lap to nap on. He very playful, is actually a little clown once he’s settled in. He was surrendered in a very overweight state, but he is getting to his desired athletic build with a healthy diet and walking every day. He loves his walk, but only likes to walk with other dogs. Now that much of his excess weight is off & the weather is improved, he also loves to run like the wind in the yard. He is housebroken & crate trained. He is neutered, wormed and up to date with his vaccinations and heartworm negative.
