PLEASE CONSIDER TOBOR-if you want to truly help a dog that needs someone worse than all the others, he is the one for you. Once you read about him you will see that his needs really are not that large. He is just as deserving as any dog and maybe more. But no one wants him because he requires more time than others. But because of his needs, you will develop a stronger than normal bond. And he will take just as good of care of you as you do him.
Tobor was born in April of 2007. He is a red buff with a black mask. No one can be your best buddy like Tobor. Tobor means robot backwards. When he first came to rescue, he was very stressed and moved in animated movements like a robot. He is well over that, but no one will forget his first days.
Tobor doesn't like to be yelled at or pointed at; but do you? He is 75 pounds of pure love. He is to be a house dog! He growls if someone is walking up to a kennel. If you go inside, he is fine; you reach through, he is fine. But no dog needs to live in a kennel.
Tobor has some special needs. And the poor guy keeps getting looked past because of them. He has a skin condition. It is NOT demodectic mange. He has had the best in treatment and assessment of all kinds, including acupuncture, and many expensive therapies. The skin condition has not been identified but is not contagious. His vets say he does not have arthritis, but weather changes give him muscle aches and his back ankles get a little stiff.
His requirements are these:He needs just as much Nutro dog food as dry food. Salmon is also good for his needs. He needs a dry food high in ...............He needs Vitamin E Nutrivet supplement. He needs suntan lotion even though his skin is black because he burns easily. He needs a mild pain reliever during weather changes and/or preferably Glucosamine Condroiten all the time.He needs a bath at least 2 times a week and needs to be rubbed with lotion almost every day. He really needs massages too so you can just rub the lotion on while you lotion him up.
Tobor's adoption fee is $150THAT INCLUDES: spay/neuter, up to date vaccines and worming, total health exam (hips and knees are examined by a professional, if there is need for x-rays we do that also), microchip, heart-worm test, temperament test done by at least two professional trainers (not cheap!), behavior modification when needed, free lifetime return, lifetime behavior/training advice, and assistance including financial (when funds allow) in the approved crisis situations.
Bloodtests for actual proof of breed identity is available.
Tobor is in TX, but arrangements can be made to bring him to MO. or possibly to you. Tobor is in a dangerous part of TX for dogs. It is right on the border to Mexico where illegal trafficking is a part of life. The fighting rings are so awful there that bait dogs and dogs who lose can be seen wandering the streets. We help those dogs too. We try to get a hold of these dogs BEFORE their lives become miserable. That is why you will see a lot of puppies. We talk people out of giving their puppi8es away free to good home, so we know where they are going. We HAVE to save these dogs from their almost decided fate. These dogs are very special to us as you can see the literal blood sweat and tears we have in these dogs.
