Melissa is a special girl and will need a home with someone who has a lot of compassion and understanding of what happens in a puppy mill environment. We know Melissa was used as breeding stock and kept solely for the purpose of producing puppies but we also suspect she herself was born in a 'mill'. She has a shattered pelvis caused by either being hit by a car or being kicked from behind. Her pelvis was not only broken in several places, it was moved up and forward from the impact. When Melissa arrived she was pregnant and had a tough time delivery her babies but she was a very good mother.
