Jake is quite the handsome fellow and a gentleman to boot. He is a beautiful three-year-old papered Brittany and weighs about 40 pounds. When Jake was a puppy, he was hit by a car. His left rear hock (ankle) joint was severely damaged. His owners went to great lengths to have the leg repaired by a surgeon. Jake uses his leg to walk and run, but he does not stand on it. His foster family has taken him to back to the surgeon to have the leg evaluated. A screw was removed from the surgical site and Jake was given a clean bill of health. Although Jake does skip or hop as he runs and walks, it is a "functional limp" and does not seem to cause him any pain.
Jake has a great time with his foster brother and another foster dog. All three dogs play well together. They love to wrestle, run and play tug with rope toys. Many afternoons have been spent in the yard cooperatively trying to catch the squirrel that lives in the neighbor’s tree. The amount of patience shown by the dogs is astounding! Fortunately for the squirrel they have not had any success.
Jake is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. He gets along very well with our 3.5 year-old granddaughter. When we leave the house Jake goes into the crate willingly if a treat is provided. He has also been left un-crated in the house and has been fine. Jake will be a great addition for any family looking for a loving Brittany.
Jake's adoption fee is $350. If interested, please contact Susan at 206.524.3066 or email email@example.com.
