Buddy has been in rescue for a year now. People who meet him just cannot understand why. He may not be that little puppy that is sooo cute but he has many wonderful qualities that he would love to share with a new family. Buddy is a real lover and sweetheart. He is a happy go lucky guy who just wants to spend time hanging out with his family. He is an estimated 8-9 years old orange and white male Brittany with roan markings. Some have thought he has some English Setter in him. It could be true but we will never know for sure. He was found as a stray so nothing is known about his first years of life. What we do know is that he is a real lover who gets along with people and dogs alike. He seem to do OK with cats and does not bother them in the vets office. He is a big boy weighing in at 50 pounds.
Buddy likes the outdoors. Playing fetch, walks, smelling the ground and checking out the wildlife are some of his favorite activities. He likes to go camping with his foster family – see his picture with his foster friends at the campground (Buddy is posing on the left). He is currently trained on our radio fence He loves going for car rides and will sit very nicely in the seat and watch the world go by then lay down to take a snooze. Don’t leave the car do open – he will be in the front seat begging to go for a ride before you can blink an eye. He also enjoys lying near you while you watch TV or lying at your feet while you work on the computer. He will sleep soundly snuggled on a doggie bed by your bed at night. He is a very smart boy who knows basic commands and is always ready to please people. He will sit at dinnertime and Âleave’ his food until he is told he can eat. He does not jump up although he gets very excited when he greets you – his tail wagging. He would do great with children of all ages and just loves to get big hugs.
Buddy has had his share of health problems due to the lack of care before he came into rescue. He was Heartworm positive and had a severe case of kennel cough. He must have lived a tough life previously as his front teeth are worn down and his canine teeth are not pretty looking. Thanks to NBRAN he is now healthy and living the good life. You can tell he is just so happy to finally be safe and warm, cared for and loved. He is currently on his HW preventative and gets a small dose of Rimadyl each day to help with some arthritis that he has developed in his back,
