In the morning, when foster mom sits in the recliner to read the paper, he sits with her. He likes to sit with people and be near them. At the same time, he loves his foster sisters and plays and snuggles with them too. We are not sure of his age. The vet said not much more than 1. He is still clumsy and a little awkward. So we think he is very close to being 1. He loves to play and run hot laps around the house and the yard. He will chase or be chased. Either way, he loves it. He is a trained retriever. He will bring a toy back to you and drop it at your feet and then sit and wait for the next command. He has to have something in his mouth all the time. We have these flat, unstuffed animals with squeakers in them. He will not go anywhere without one in his mouth. He has a favorite that he left outside during the rain and when he found it, he sat in the chair with it and gave it a bath like a momma dog would. One time when foster dad was ill and in bed, Spencer brought all of his toys and put them on the bed to help Dad feel better. He does not like his gentle lead, but will walk with it on. We walk him a lot so he is getting used to it. He is crate trained and house trained. We do not know how he will get along with cats. He needs to be in a home with no other dogs or no male dogs.
