Introducing Sada: I am a sweet and adorable flashy fawn female. I am about 2 years old, but a lady never reveals her true age! I have had a litter of puppies before coming into Rescue. I was saved along with five other boxer friends I met in Missouri; I have been spayed and had all my shots updated. Now I am a happy, peppy and playful adolescent lady!
My foster parents say that I am a sweetheart. They have a soft spot in their hearts for me, as well as on their bed and on their couch! They say I am more than just another pretty face and that I am a very smart girl. I have learned how to walk nicely on my leash, I sit and wait patiently for my dinner bowl, I can come when I am called, and I am learning to not chase rabbits and squirrels when we go for walks. When told, I will sit, stay, I am trying to learn to lay down, and I know how to ride in the car (which I love!)
My foster dad says I want to be the boss. I do like to play with other dogs, especially boxers because they know how to play Âboxer games with me and can keep me in check. I really like people once I get to know them - I can sometimes be protective of my space so I need help to understand when it is OK to be calm. Sada is a very intelligent boxer. She has had some socialization issues and is learning how to behave appropriately in the company of people and other dogs. Sada does not get along with cats and sometimes other female dogs. The best home for Sada will be one which has NO cats and perhaps in a home that has a boxer that can keep Sada entertained and in check. She will do great as an only dog too, just know there will be a high demand for lots of play time (she has so much energy)!
More importantly, Sada will need an owner who understands that the human is the leader of the pack. She responds very well to commands and directions. From her past life, she has learned to be dominant when she is fearful or unsure of her setting. For this reason she has sometimes displayed what is called fear aggression. I have been taking Sada to obedience classes with about 9 other dogs and she is doing great. Once she knows the rules of the house she is very calm and settled - and the fear aggression she feels goes away. But having a strong owner who will keep her in the proper pack position is really important for Sada. She needs to know that you will be the leader and her master. We hope to find a home for her without small children since Sada has shown some signs of fear based aggression.
Sada likes to play with toys, ride in the car, and to go for walks. She loves to cuddle and will snuggle up and watch TV with you. She is house trained and kennel trained. She is quiet in her kennel. All of SadaÂs medical needs have been taken care of and all she needs now is a loving home with a strong leader. Are you the right person and will you be able to provide her a forever home?
