Brutus is a handsome 1-year-old Boxer. He came from a high kill shelter where he was brought in as a stray. Thank goodness for him, he must have escaped from a horrible life of living in a cage on a concrete floor. He was emaciated when he came into the shelter. He should have weighted around 60lbs. but he weighted 40lbs when found. He had sores all over is body from lying on the concrete floor without any fat on his body to cushion him. I don't think he has lived in a house before and will need work to teach him what is OK inside, but he is still young and will do anything for food. He is good with all the female or submissive male dogs here. He is like any other Boxer that bounces like a kangaroo and may knock over a small child. He would like a fenced in yard if possible or someone who will bring him for lot of walks, he walks well on the leash and loves to see what is going on around town. He needs someone that wants to be his friend but also be the leader of the pack. Brutus is really a smart boy and is learning very quickly but still needs alot of training, an experienced adopter would be a plus. He looks great now and is learning to love life. He is just so happy to be with people and have someone that is kind to him. He acts like a doffs but he learned to play catch in less than 15 min. It is just too funny to watch him run around the back yard with a flat basketball shacking it as hard as he can, it looks like his head is just going to fly off. HE IS A CLOWN, he will make you want to pull out your hair at times but he sure will make you SMILE. He has been neutered, heartworm negative, fecal test run negative for parasites, up to date on his 5 way distemper, kennel cough and has a health certificate.
