Buster is a beautiful seven year old Boxer mix. Boxers are a bright, energetic and playful breed. They are also active dogs and require lots of exercise to prevent boredom-associated behaviors such as chewing or digging. “Keep away” with a tennis ball or squeeky toy is one of Buster’s favorite games. Boxers have earned a reputation of being 'headstrong', but are intelligent dogs that respond well to training. Buster already knows commands like sit, stay, down and shake. He will also “jump” for treats.
Buster would do best with an adult family that enjoys having a dog in the house with them. He is gentle, has good manners and is trustworthy alone for up to 8-9 hours. When Buster needs to go outside he taps on the door with a paw to let you know. He likes to be with his people but also enjoys some quiet time by himself. For some reason Buster does not do well with young children. Because of that he should live in a household with adults or teenaged children only.
Buster is very well mannered and allows you to brush him, clip his nails and bathe him without any complaints. He loves going for walks and being petted. Strangers make him a little nervous but he is easily reassured. He likes most other dogs but should be introduced slowly before being allowed to play with them.
Buster should live with a family who has some previous experience with owning a dog. He is a good dog that needs firm but loving parents.
