Sasha is a three year old purebred boxer. She is deaf, but knows several hand signals for commands. She is very people-focused and interactive. She lived with a small child in the past, so any new kids in the house simply need to know that Sasha cannot hear them, and understand not to jump on her while she''s sleeping as it will startle her. Sasha loves toys and is a playful girl in general. She is housetrained already, and is pretty quiet (yes, deaf dogs can bark, but Sasha is pretty quiet and calm). When she is outside, she loves to run around like a wild woman but she settles nicely in the house and is not hyper. She has a moderate energy level overall. A few nice walks and some playtime would be adequate daily exercise for her. She likes other dogs but may want to be dominant. She plays roughly at times and probably wouldn''t be a good choice to live with small dogs or calmer dogs. She absolutely cannot live with cats as she would definitely chase and probably harm if caught. Because she can''t hear hazards such as cars, or her owners commands, Sasha should always be on leash or in a fenced in area for her safety. She is a strong girl with a muscular boxer build. She pulls moderately on the leash but is definitely handleable. We''ve been training her with a no-pull harness and she''s making great progress with her leash manners.
