Gimley has spent his first weekend with his foster home and is doing very well. He is shy at first and although he has taken to both his foster mom and dad he sometimes takes some convincing to let dad approach hm. He is not aggressive, just timid. After some initial whinning in his crate, he slept through the night on his third try and now jumps into it in the back of the car no problem. You still have to do a bit of convincing in the house, but the pigs ears he gets to chew once he is in are hard to resist. Gim has already learned his name and responds well to Gim, Gimley or just plain G. On his first walk with the herd he fit right in. He explores with all the dogs and has taken to his foster sister Ethel. He is amazingly smart and listens very well. he even gets how he need to stay at your side or behind you on a walk *unless he is allowed to explore. Gimley really looks to his humans for direction and thrives on praise. He shows a little interest in the outside cats but accepts the inside cats are OK. In fact he basically sniffs them and walks away. He has not marked in the house and is either already house trained or is well on his way as he has not had an accident in his crate yet. He does good on a leash unless everyone else is running around free. Gimley will thrive in a home where he can be and inside/outside dog who gets daily walks or runs. He does enjoy the company of other dogs and would like a buddy to hang out with if possible. Gim offerd to herd the cows for us, but with astern NO he immediatly stopped and came to our side. His compact size and big personality are a perfet compliment to each other. Oh, just to let you know, he does snore and will snort a bit when he gets excited!
