Sadie is a 1 yr old Border Collie cross that was turned into rescue for being too rough with small children. She is just trying to be friendly and doesn't know her own strength. Her formative months were spent in a shelter where no one taught her good manners, including not to jump up or mouth people. With daily obedience and clear rules she is rapidly turning into a great pet. Sadie is affectionate, responsive and willing to learn. She might be an excellent prospect for competitive obedience or another sport. In addition to being very friendly with people, Sadie loves other dogs. She has great dog manners and would thrive with a canine buddy of similar size. She is currently living peacefully with her foster mom's 4 Border Collies. Sadie has no behavioral problems aside from a lack of training. Because of her history, Sadie will only go to a home with adults or older children who are willing to help continue her training. She also needs to go to a home without cats or with cats who are accustomed to living with an exuberant herding breed dog. She will be ready to go at the end of January; spayed, fully vaccinated and up to date on heartworm preventative.
