Imagine that you are riding down a country road in the mountains of WV on your way home. You pass what looks like a dead dog on the side of the road in the ditch...you feel sad for the dog, but there is nothing you can do so you keep driving. For three days, you pass that poor, dead dog...each time you pass her, feeling her pain for having spent her last moments alive, alone and scared. Then on the fourth day, as you drive by and glance her direction, you see her head MOVE!!! Thats Candies story. Once animal control was contacted, Candie had to be picked up and moved from that spot...that spot where her owners abandoned her, and where she waited faithfully for them to return for her, not moving an inch. Now Candie is here in rescue..she is a very sweet girl, though a bit shy at first meeting. She gets along fine with other dogs and people after she gets over those first meeting jitters. Candie is a small girl, not so much bigger than spaniel...but her face and coat definitely give away that she is a Border mix! Candie was likely an outside dog, and will need help with learning proper manners and training. After all shes been through, her wonderful spirit remains in tact, now she just needs a family to devote herself to again.
