Description:
Jessi is a very special girl, in fact she is lucky to be alive after what she has been through. When she was first born, she had cloudy eyes and could not use her hind legs. Her people were letting their four year old daughter play with her like a doll because 'she was going to die anyway'. She was rescued from that bad situation and with a lot of love and kindness, she regained her strength and was walking and running and playing like a regular dog.She went to a new home where she apparantly was kicked in the head by a horse or a cow, because when Jessi came to us, she had a dent in her skull. As a result, she sometimes acts a little bit crazy... spins in circles, sometimes growls for no apparant reason, and she is very insecure around other animals. Despite all of this, Jessi is a very affectionate and loyal dog. She is always happy to see us and runs right up to give kisses and get petted. If you talk to her in a high pitched voice, she pees - not sure what is up with that, but it certainly is something that can be lived with. Jessi needs to be in a home with adults and no other animals. She would be okay with older children who understand that she may need to be left alone when she's feeling threatened, but she still has that sparkle in her eyes and a love of life. There is no reason why she can't become part of a loving family, she just will need some extra love and patience.
