8 Month Old Female Border Collie Mix (Black with White Markings)
My Bio: Hi. I’m Tess. I’m about 9 months old. I am an energetic border collie mix. I weigh about 35 pounds and am just as cute as can be. I love, love, love to play ball outside. I’ve had some socialization with a young child but will need more so that I can learn not to jump on them (I know I shouldn’t but I just get so darned excited when I meet them). I love to play ball, tug of war, and enjoy running. Do you like to walk, jog, or run? If so, I’m the girl for you. I don’t get along with all other dogs although I’m trying to learn how to. So if you have another dog, you’ll want to arrange a playdate between us so that you can see if we’ll be a match. I have learned to sit and am working on “off” and “down”. I’ve had a checkup and my first shots and boosters too. I’m pretty, healthy, and want love so bad I can just wag my tail right off Now I just need an energetic, playful person to give me my happy ending. Hey, do YOU want to play with me? About the Author: Tess was rescued by Amelia’s Angels Rescue Network from the West Valley City Animal Shelter. She has received her first set of shots and booster vaccinations and is scheduled to be spayed on November 23rd. She currently resides in the AARN central foster home in Riverton, Utah. About the Rescue: Amelia’s Angels Rescue Network is a network of foster homes and animal care volunteers located in Riverton, Utah. We have rescued from and work in conjunction with a number of local shelters and other rescue groups in the area. Our available pets all reside in foster homes which gives them the opportunity to receive socialization with humans and other pets. Often, these homes include socialization with children, including the very young. We make every attempt to teach basic social and behavior skills to the dogs in our care. Most often this includes potty training, training to not jump, sit, down, wait, and stay commands. All training with the dogs is positive reinforcement training (reward based training instead of punishment based training). We firmly believe that all animals, especially those from traumatic backgrounds such as shelter life, benefit most of reward based training.
