My name is Forrest. I am a very handsome five year old black Labrador Retriever. I am a typical Lab that loves people, any and all people. My foster Mom says I am a loving, affectionate and friendly dog and I especially love to play with kids. They never seem to get tired. I like a good game of fetch, a long walk or just romping outside. Mom thinks I should live at a home with a fenced in yard though. I really love to run and sometimes when I’m running I don’t come back when I’m called. I’ve been told that obedience training will help me listen better to commands so my new family will have to be willing to take me to doggy school.
Although I love people I’m not as quite as good with other dogs. After I get to know another dog I’m OK, but until then I can be pretty bossy and aggressive. Cats are another thing. My foster Mom says I should not live in a household with cats. Just like with rabbits and squirrels I will chase them with the intent of hunting them.
Although I will sometime sleep on the furniture if I can get away with it, I am very well behaved in the house. I am completely housebroken and crate trained. I have the run of the house when my people are at home. I don’t bark or howl or chew on the furniture or rugs. I do however like to chew paper towels or a box of Kleenex if they are left where I can get at them. My new family should keep me supplied with plenty of bones and things to chew on. I also like to play with tennis balls, soft toys with a bell inside of them, and the kind of toy you can play tug-of-war with. I love to play!
Even though I have never been to obedience training I know many commands like sit, come, down, kennel, shake and off. When my new family takes me to obedience training I bet I will be the best in the class.
I am looking for an active family that has plenty of time to play with me. I bet I would make a good jogging partner too. If you want a friendly, active dog, I’m the right one for you.
