Midnight is about 3 years old, weighs around 40 lbs. and is extremely good-natured and even-tempered. He gets along great with children, other dogs and cats. He is content to play or just nap in the sun. He’s the real easy-going type. Midnight tested positive for heartworm, but because we caught it early he is being treated with medication, which should resolve the problem. He has been neutered and is current on his vaccinations. This sweet dog is in need of a forever home where he can be part of a family. He apparently had a family at one time. About a year ago he wandered into the yard of someone in Ponchatoula. He seemed well nourished and his nails appeared to have been recently trimmed. However, he did not have an identification tag on. Flyers were posted in the neighborhood but no owner was ever located. That’s when he came to live at the shelter. He did not respond well to being in a kennel. He refused to eat and became very lethargic. He now lives on a long cable but really needs to have a secure fenced-in yard where he can roam when he isn’t indoors with the family.
